More on James Holmey Holmes
The Ed Schultz show has now banned me from their message boards and my emailed complaints to the admins has been rejected. Evidently Holmey, unable to intimidate me, attempts to silence me by banning me.
He is a coward as well as misrepresenting what is said to him. He does not desire to debate but to preach.
The Ed Schultz show is not where America comes to talk. It's where Ed and Holmey come to have their egos stroked.
And that's why the show will ultimately fail.
It took years for Rush's ego to over take his common sense. His show was much more energized and entertaining when he took himself less seriously.
Ed got there in a few short years. Where he used to tell his listeners it was not his job, goal or objective to be a leader for dems in politics, he now takes credit for their success. He needs to check his ego, get rid of his intimidation prone producer and get his balance back.
Disillusioned doesn't come close....

If they've banned you, they HAVE lost any claim to "Where America Comes to Talk". Sad, but the board has gotten more homogeneous lately, an echo chamber of vile epithets.
Disagreement is viewed as heresy and heresy has become more commonplace as the tone has become more strident. I can't say that I am surprised to see Holmey and Ed lead the charge. They have always had a streak of meanness they interpret as backbone. With the ANS issue it simply went over the top to utter arrogance. To use the term was forgivable. To be insensitive to how others react to the term is indefensible. The number of posters who have tuned out,turned off, and tacked away does not bode well for the board.
Ultimately, it bodes poorly for the show.

I agree. I think Ed, with his whorish comments and the AAR rant, has hurt himself badly.
The problem they have with me now is I reported Holmey's harrassing calls. I needed a written report so IF the calls continued I could take steps to stop them. I couldn't trust that Holmey was going to reign in because he had already been asked to stop and didn't. So banning me was their solution to Holmey's self control I guess.
At any rate, thanks for stopping by and do check in again. It may be the closest thing I get to dialoguing with you guys now.

Holmey wouldn't respond to my posts on ANS either.
It's a bitter pill to swallow when someone you used to respect turns out to be a neanderthal.
(And I apologize to any actual neanderthals who might read this.)

Sorry to hear you had issues with Holmey. Too bad his ego has gotten the better of himself. I knew he was heavy handed but this (what I heard) was more extreme than anyone should be subjected to.

I don't know about the rest of the folks, but I can't read between the lines for squat. However, I can read that one between the lines VERY well.
There is, however, one fundamental mistake almost everyone has made regarding the ESS board. It's something that Holmey made very clear to me some time ago on the phone.
The ESS board is a promotional tool of the show. It's purpose is to promote the show. Period.
Just something to keep in mind.
I swear, if I had anything close to the time to do it, I'D start a board called "The Island of Misfit Toys." You'd all be invited, but invitations would be limited to those who don't like the taste of Kool-Aid... ANY FLAVOR.

I didn't sleep last night. I've been tense all day, bp has been up, worrying about all this, doubting myself.
I finally realized this afternoon the truth of what I already had embraced. I don't have to take abuse or harrassing calls from anyone and I have a right to see that those are stopped.
More and more people have commented about calls to them.
I breathe a sigh of relief to know I wasn't singularily targeted.

I'm so glad we came to an agreement before I had to leave. I don't know that you could label the calls as "personal". They were about the board but they became, to me, unpleasant.

Al and Rain, I thank you for that comment by Sheriff. If Holmey's intent is to promote the show, he's failed to realize pissing off the listeners doesn't do it. If this is his idea of promotion then Rush must be delighted.

That being said, the tension on the board is counterproductive.

I have several e-mail accounts,I use gmail,yahoo and my optonline account.I guess I should have been a little more forthcoming about my identity,that was my fault.I don't often send mail via the gmail account,and to tell the truth,I couldn't remember my username until I posted here.
I didn't catch the entire episode last week,I was doing some heavy-duty reaearch on some issues and didn't even log on until the weekend.By then,most of the crap hit the fan,messages were deleted and I felt it was better not to get involved at the late date because I didn't know what was going on.I don't get the show on radio anymore,and I didn't have a lot of time to bone up on it online.
There are certain words that you don't use in the description of people,whether it refers to race,creed or personal habits;I am disappointed in what I see happening there.
Phil, I'm disappointed to see Ed's show reveal a side to him I was hoping didn't exist. I remember being concerned after the elections because it appeared he was giving himself credit for the democratic wins. That belongs to all of you who campaigned so hard. Ed may have played a part in it but I question taking the lions share.

I think they are discovering a new found power and need to carefully consider how they're going to use it or they'll alienate a lot of posters and end up as a bitter,antagonistic platform of lefty opinion that will occupy the same space on the left side that hannity's board occupies on the right.I don't want to see that happen,but the damage may have been done this last week.

AND the best board. They need to let it be what it does best: facillitate discussion.
A lot of posters have dissappeared over the last few months-megadave,whom I liked a lot,thai boxer john,a few others whose names escape me right now,and its sad because I'm not always on there so if someone leaves,the reasons aren't always clear.One day they just stop posting,and life goes on without much mention of why.I find it ironic that all this happens while a topic like 'we are family' is conspicuously active.Almost like a half hearted recognition of the growing pains the board is going through.But no real attempt at healing.
I wondered what happened to Mega Dave and his humping avatar.
Truthfully I had no issues with the board. This was unrelated and altho others have been involved it was NOT an issue with them. One person. One issue.
